Former Staff Bio: Vice CinC Barnseyboy
Submitted By: Ker Khris
This is an arcaic bio. This is a good memory of how things used to be and what somebody used to be like!
joined CA in about april of 2001. I had a friend named “pertinax” who had been telling me
I had to try zeb. At that point he had just beaten eliza. It took me 4 weeks to beat her.
On the way up, I stayed out of the brigades waiting till I got to kernel. When I got to lt.kernel
I made friends with what could be considered the brat pack of that time. Fugjostle, gabbana,
k_phactor, and Reef. Back then moving up through zeb meant everything. We had great laughs,
and hung out in #ltkernel. Then I made kernel and decided to join OSI under a mate ToTaL
After joining under him, he realized he’d be too busy to be C/O, so I was made C/O. By the time
that had happened, I had already made it to General, so my rank wasn’t an issue. Being C/O
of OSI was natural for me, I’m a coder by trade.
Now I’d really like to see a side of CA without the lamer labels. I see a future for an army
of programmers. I see us developing cool applications for the good of the computer using
world. I also see loads of people joining with little knowledge, who I’d like to make better.
I feel that this would be going towards my goal of having fun first, then knowledge second.
And hopefully, we can put the activism back into CA, lose some of our bureaucracy, start doing
things that are more important for the net, and maybe even make a difference along the way.
