Note from the Commander
By: Lambda CinC Enstyne
This month there have been many new progressions. In the next month we will be diving into some new areas.
Cracking A5 GSM Encryption
The A5 GSM encryption is the encryption standard used to send text messages and other secure content through your cell phones. At a point the standard was cracked and rainbow tables were made, however the tables were never released.
There is a new initiative here that is looking to develop rainbow tables for cracking purposes.
How can we help?
There is software here for generating the rainbow tables. These guys seem to use a chip on any graphics cards with GPGPU capability to aid the process.
New Members
We have welcomed three members into the staff realm in the past month. General MDalby, returns to his seat in staff, General Asmodai is new, and Lt Ker Zerhash is now in staff training.
Windstone
This development has further progressed with the help of MDalby and Vapor. OSI as well as CAZine have been in the process of implementation and are nearly done.
The core system is ready to be used. For those who do not know, windstone is an API that will allow for a “passport” among sites. The key feature that is usable through this system is the Accomplishment system. This doesn’t limit where Windstone can go, but demonstrates its vast capability of growth. One goal for the near future would be to develop a web interface for it.
This is a development that uses SOAP as the communication method. Feel free to watch the progression here.
We are still looking for developers. The accomplishment system needs to be polished off. Message rj-away on irc for details.
SNEAK
I am proud to say that the SNEAK.net project has come through and is releasing its desktop version today. This has been a collaborative effort over the years and through a recent surge we have completion.
Now we will look towards the future developments of the project. The next version is in the planing stages now. They are still looking for Java developers to help with the development.
Volund
It has been a productive month for Volund. The project has been stood back up to provide alternative services such as shell accounts to the CA community. The back end is developed in perl using REST. Perl developers are still needed.
Further to this, a new server has been established in order to support Volund as well as darknet. CMs MDalby or Zerhash for further information.
The Future
This past month has had a high level of activity and I want to keep this up. We need to ensure that we retain new members and keep them active.
I want to see prototypes of the plans I have outlined in my original plan document. Seek out my Brigade Commanders as they may need help. The accomplishment system will be polished off in the next month, therefor we will need people to assist the process.
This is the best zine EVER!! lol
sered secrets inside!!
excellent work.
Great article!
I’m currently working on a cryptography algorithm aswell if anyone wants to have a look;
