Eavesdrop Telephone Conversations on Computer

By: Tr CyborgCA

This is a small tutorial to eavesdrop on any telephone conversation. Using this, you can secretly listen to what other people are talking on the phone, while you are apparently ‘working’ on your computer.

Things you will need :

  1. A computer (obviously), with a dial-up modem. I prefer a laptop over a desktop because you don’t have to bend over to connect the telephony cable.
  2. A phone line.
  3. Telephony cable
  4. Headphones.

Now, in Microsoft Windows, there is a small program called “Dialer”. This is a built-in program which can be used to make calls as long as you have an account from which your telephone company can withdraw money.

You needn’t have one in this case anyhow.

This will also not disturb your broadband connection, because it uses the dial-up modem.

All you have to do is, plug in both the ends of the telephony cable to your telephone outlet, and the other end to your laptop/desktop.

When a call is in progress, open Run and then type dialer.exe and press enter.

Now, in Number to Dial, don’t type anything! Just press space and then press enter.

You will be able to hear everything of the ongoing conversation on the telephone. The best part is, unlike other cordless phones or wired-telephones, they won’t know when you are listening, because the modem does not make any noise when the line is picked up at your end.

I found out this trick by myself, so I really don’t think it’s available outside anywhere.

P.S : Make sure that you plug in your earphone jack as well. You definitely don’t want to make it known that you’re eavesdropping. Best regards, CyborgCA.
