Where have they gone

In this feature we will be calling upon Auzzie.
Auz is a well known member of CA and has put in a lot of dedication into its success. When I was starting out with some of my first large tasks with the university, Auzz was my inspiration. Since then, he has continued to provide much leadership at the Junior level, ensuring the completion of tasks.
It hasn’t been until recent that he has stepped away from CA for a while to handle things in the real world.
So here we have it:
me: OK let’s start simple. How long would you say you’ve been in (no looking)?
Auzzie: On and off since August of 2001, I believe.
me: Ya I think most of us are on and off; I’m no exception.
Auzzie: Sorry 2006.
me: In those years, what do you think would be the highlight? I remember the CAU thing with you was a good go way back when.
Auzzie: Well the highlight for me would be working under pixie for CAU certifications, or under bastian/rose for CPC (Cyberarmy Privacy Commission).
me: Nice. So, what were you doing with CA prior to your LOA (Leave of Absence)?
Auzzie: I was working with Sheppard, Sponge and SAJChurchey on a few bits, and been asked by MDalby to do a bit more work for OSI (Open Source Institute).
me: What would you say your main goal was?
Auzzie: Wow! hard one already. I’ve never really thought about it, but I would say it would be nice to make a difference.
me: So, what are you doing now with your life?
Auzzie: Pretty much nothing: working stupid hours, spending time with the girl friend and travelling a lot, with bits of coding in between.
me: When you come back (and you will), what would the biggest change or contribution be that you would like to bring to CA?
Auzzie: Actual time to dedicate to CA and activity; It always needs that.
me: Right on, we are all awaiting your return. I am for sure. I need someone to slap with a trout for old times sake. One final question for all the new guys getting in CA: What would be your best advice for them?
Auzzie: I hear everything has changed since Enstyne has taken over, so I would say look carefully at a place to go and help, focus on it, and be prepared for times of low activity.
me: Thanks Auz – Anything you would like to say that I missed?
Auzzie: Yeah, CA has a great history; It was how I managed to find it in the first place. I has been mentioned in several books and articles, as well as members’ being mentioned in books.
So, keep focused and you never know where you might end up.
me: Awesome! Thanks for helping out.
Auzzie: Any time.
me: You’ve been a hard worker since I met you, and I’m glad to see you’ve been recognized for your work.
Now you need to dump the girl friend, quit your job, and return to your rightful place.
Auzzie: *lol* Totally.
Auzzie has been a strong contributor and a positive influence for all members of the community. Hopefully we will see him soon back in the thick of it.
